JOB SUMMARY:
The position is responsible for day to management of the STS Network Engineering group which is responsible for evaluating, architecting, and implementing complex network systems and technical solutions utilizing latest technologies in Networking and security. The group is also responsible for developing, planning, and implementing security solutions based on relevant industry standards. This position is also responsible for the performance management of all Network Engineering staff as well as the day-today support of the enterprise network. The Manager, Network Engineering is also responsible for all 3rd level support resolution for all network and telephony infrastructure across the Company enterprise.

The position is based at the Company Corporation s enterprise Data Center location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage and serve as key contributor in the development of scalable network designs for campus and global networks, and 3rd party customer connections
Identify, research, and evaluate emerging network technologies to meet current and future technology needs
Manages the development and implementation of network management and related tools for use by the NOC and Operations teams within STS and the Company enterprise.
Engineer highly-resilient network infrastructure solutions in response to enterprise and customer specific requirements
Oversees the administration and maintenance of Company Infrastructure as directed by the Director, Technology Design and Innovation
Plans and oversees the design, implementation, and management of network security systems to meet enterprise compliance requirements and in line with industry best practices
Provides direction for various network projects, recommend solution to network problems and provide voice and data network design options in a multi-platform/multi-protocol environment.
Assists staff in development of detailed network specifications based upon client requirements and adherence to standards.
Manages the Network Engineering group in performing the following functions for the Company enterprise:
Perform critical evaluations of client networks and develop recommendations for improvement.
Perform product analysis and cost justification for improvements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
7-15 Years of technical experience in networking and strong background with all major network protocols and Cisco IP telephony systems
5-8 years experience designing TCP/IP networking infrastructure
Advanced level Cisco technical certification or equivalent hands-on experience required
Expert in routing, switching, VLANs, Cisco hardware (ASA, CME/CUE, Call Manager v8.x and up, content switching) and IOS
Extensive experience with Cisco LAN and WAN management tools
Hands on expertise with Brocade LAN switches
5-8 years hands-on experience with defining HW specifications, installation, configurations and upgrades of LAN and WAN infrastructure
Strong working knowledge of Windows network operating systems a must
5 years experience with Internet security concepts, design and implementation
Strong experience with router-to-router, meshed, and end-user VPNs
Hands-on experience with developing and implementing infrastructure for security, LAN and WAN
Hands-on experience guiding multiple projects across multiple locations simultaneously
Proven and demonstrable ability to document network topologies, requirements, design, and /or process
Strong presentation skills required
Proven written and verbal communications skills required
