We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement and maintain Global LAN/WAN network infrastructures for a fast-paced Alternative Asset Management environment. The candidate must be able to work independently and interface with all levels of staff. The position reports to SVP of Global Networking.

Network Design & Architecture
Responsible for the design and architecture of global network infrastructures encompassing high-speed LANS, DWDM Dark Fiber Rings and MPLS/DMVPN WANS.

Hands-on knowledge of Cisco Switches and understand switching concepts such as vPC, MLAG, rapid spanning-tree , VLAN's, cut-through vs. store-and-forward, QoS, 802.1q trunks and port channels.

Working experience with Static Routes/OSPF/BGP/RIP and inter-protocol redistribution methodologies. A thorough understanding of eBGP vs. iBGP routing topologies and their use in Extranet vendor environments. A deep understanding of Multicast PIM sparse-mode routing, RP's and IGMP.

Configuration of Load Balancers for server resiliency and provide inter-data center redundancy using Global Service Load Balancing.

Firewall and remote access solutions including Access-lists, NAT, SSL and IPSEC VPN's.

Evaluate new network products and technologies to be introduced into existing production environments. This includes all aspect of product/technology selection including determining the need; vendor selection; writing comprehensive test plans; conducting the actual tests; implementing design documents; and introducing the product/technology into a running, production infrastructure.

Candidate must possess excellent writing and documentation skills to continuously update existing standards and architectures. Must produce comprehensive documentation/functional requirements/specifications using existing Wiki environment.

Network Implementation & Operations
Perform day-to-day network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems. Additionally, solve complex problems with many variables using sniffers and matrix switches.

A complete and thorough understanding of TCP and UDP and the OSI layer.

Experience with network configuration management, scripting, event and log monitoring platforms.
