Job Description: SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED TO REDESIGN THE LOGO AND WEB PRESENCE FOR A STATE AGENCY IN SOUTH CAROLINA. THIS WILL INCLUDE THE DELIVERY OF A REDESIGNED WEB LOGO, AGENCY "LANDING PAGE” AND SUB-PAGE TEMPLATE DESIGNED IN THE DRUPAL FRAMEWORK.

Function: Works under general supervision and participates in the design and development of internet/intranet systems. May work independently or as a part of a team. May serve as senior technical staff member for assigned projects. May coach more junior technical staff.

General Characteristics

· Integrally involved in the development and support of all Internet/Intranet/Extranet sites and supporting systems.
· Works closely with other IT groups and customers to define the system design and user interface based on customer needs and objectives.
· Participates in all phases of the development and implementation process, and may act as a project manager on special projects.
· Ensures the integration of the web servers and all other supporting systems by using message based middleware and interfacing with relational databases.
· Be knowledgeable of best-practices for building secure web applications.
· Responsible for developing client-side scripting and server-side application code.
· Extensive knowledge in using programming languages such as Visual Basic, HTML, XML, Java, and ASP.

DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

THIS POSITION WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DESIGN OF A NEW LOGO AND WEB PRESENCE FOR A SOUTH CAROLINA STATE AGENCY. THIS POSITION WILL PROVIDE WEB AND WEB LOGO DESIGN EXPERTISE AND DELIVER FINAL DESIGNS BASED ON REQUIREMENTS PROVIDED BY THE PROJECT TEAM. DUTIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO DESIGN WORK, WEB CODING OF PRIMARY AND SUB-WEB PAGES, REQUIREMENTS GATHERING, CONSULTATION WITH AN EXISTING APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT TEAM, PRESENTATION OF DESIGNS AND PARTICIPATION IN REGULAR PROJECT TEAM MEETINGS. WEB CODE USED IN THE WEB OR LOGO DESIGN MUST ADHERE TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SECURITY BEST PRACTICES AND IS SUBJECT TO STATE VULNERABILITY SCANNING. ANY VULNERABILITY IDENTIFIED THROUGH SUCH SCANNING MUST BE REMEDIATED PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE.

REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):

WEB DESIGN, WEB LOGO DESIGN, RESPONSIVE DESIGN, BRANDING, DRUPAL, HTML AND OTHER SUCH WEB CODING STANDARDS.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
