Title: Manager - Systems/Technology FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Director of IT
Location: Washington, DC
Supervises: 1-2 Staff
Summary Description: Under limited supervision, provide support and technical assistance to end users in an assigned area to ensure the smooth operation of the area. Seeking an individual to work under the direction of the Director of IT to provide excellent problem-solving skills while assisting in providing business solutions using technology tools. This candidate will also serve as the principal liaison with technology vendors and interact with other staff members. Some traveling and weekends will be required during the organization's events throughout the year.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the strategic and operational processes of the business organization as related to IT Systems
  • Ability to answer and provide solutions to end-user's technical questions
  • Maintain accurate records of software licenses and reconcile invoices to annual maintenance contracts
  • Assist in establishing Regional IT goals, objectives, and operating procedures
  • Communicate corporate plans, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating IT systems
  • Maintenance of material within East Region SharePoint site to ensure materials are kept up to date and appropriate security is granted to users as needed
  • Assist with IT related tasks, i.e. add RAM to computers, format machines prior to disposition, and IT Asset Management
  • Maintain, support, and improve the office infrastructure. Create and maintain network documentation
  • Manage all technical aspects of office moves and setup of infrastructure
  • Create training materials/documents for users
  • Coordinate IT training through 3rd party vendors for users as needed, i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, Windows 7, mobile devices
  • Complete any IT vendor calls for service, such as with Verizon, Park Place (server warranty), Xerox, CDW, and Dell
  • Prepare Property IT budgets annually
  • Implement IT initiatives, software and standards in collaboration with Central IT department
  • Assist with special projects to support assigned area
  • 3 years of experience managing and/or directing an IT operation
  • 5 -8 years overall experience working in the IT industry
  • Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems
  • Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems
  • knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations
  • Demonstrate strong initiative and customer service orientation
  • Ability to troubleshoot and research solutions to any technical issues
  • Interact with employees, visitors and vendors with poise and diplomacy
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Proven experience in IT planning, organization, and development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • SharePoint experience
  • Nintex workflow/forms experience preferred
  • Type a minimum 60-WPM with accuracy
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
Physical abilities/Working Conditions:
  • Work indoors approximately 99% of the time and outdoors 1% of the time
  • Operate personal computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs
  • Ability to travel 25-30%
