Job Description & Responsibilities:
The IT Application Manager will be key member of the IT management team. He or she will be responsible for managing and support a portfolio of 100+ business applications in addition to reporting, custom development and integration. The position requires strong leadership and building strong relationships with various disciplines (geoscience, engineering, operations and corporate functions) across the enterprise. A successful candidate will proactively work with business stakeholders to understand their business needs, architect and implement innovative solutions to deliver business outcome.
  • Proactively work with all business stakeholders and to understand their demand
  • Design, architect and implement innovative solutions to deliver business outcome
  • Align application strategy with overall IT and business strategies
  • Manage the portfolio of business applications including hot fixes, upgrade, enhancement, licensing, and vendor relationship
  • Provide the leadership and vision to the application team
  • Work closely with other IT managers to address any inter-dependence concerns between application, infrastructure, operations and data management
  • Focus on quality and attention to the details
  • Communicate effectively with direct reports, supervisors, peers and business customers
  • Provide timely support on production applications and achieve Service Level Agreement (SLA) target
  • Plan and manage application projects according to the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology
  • Manage the budget for business applications and contribute to the annual planning cycle
  • Provide regular reporting on performance and cost

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology
  • Focus on quality and attention to details
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills a must
  • Solid understanding of application architecture principles
  • Require previous management experience and proven track record of effectively leading and managing employees, managing performance, setting goals for team/individuals and provide mentoring
  • In-depth expertise in the domain of E&P related applications. Understands needs of technical disciplines, to be able to identify options for solutions, to provide knowledge of proven industry practices and to ensure adequate level of support for users
  • Knowledge of the following applications preferred: Enertia, Geographix, Wellview, OFM, and Aries
  • Project management includes - delivering implementation projects for new solutions in complex environments with many involved parties (business stakeholders, IT, software vendors, outsourcing partners etc.)
  • Ability to keep up with industry trends and innovation
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geophysics, Geology, Engineering or Computer Sciences
  • 10+ years of previous experience required.
