Temp QC Molding Technician- 3+ months – Monday through Thursday 7am until 4:30pm
  • Support routine visual and dimensional inspections according to the company specifications and will assist in day-to-day lab activities.
  • The employee has the accountability for testing and verifying that the molded parts produced are in accordance with companys specifications and quality expectations.
  • Responsible for applying good laboratory practices while performing GMP testing of injection molding components for commercial production.
  • A previous QC visual inspection background and work experience in GMP/ISO regulated production environment is essential to succeed in this position.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for visual and dimensional inspection of molded components to maintain quality of products in accordance with approved specifications.
  • Conduct quality inspection/testing for in-process and release components using appropriate methods and lab equipment, assist in product investigation, validation and process troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrate problem solving and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of measurement devices: gages, micrometers, calipers, force gauges, 3D smart scope, scales.
  • Document and process non-conforming material in accordance with written procedures.
  • Maintain and archive documents and samples.
  • Provide support to Technical Operations and Molding Production Teams.
  • Develop and maintain inspector training materials and provide training on new requirements, molds and configurations.
  • Maintain Quality System Documentation (Mold Quality Plans, Quality Procedures, Work Instructions & Forms, QC drawings, production prints, requirements packages, etc.). *Maintain quality defect standards (defect limit samples).
  • Other job duties can be assigned as requested.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum two years of visual inspection experience in quality GMP work environment.
  • Injection molding of small, detailed parts a plus.
  • Experience with various dimensional measurements (micrometer, 3D smart scope) a plus.
  • File daily production paperwork, data entry in IDOS/SAP.
  • Willing to work overtime.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read measuring devices and to read and interpret component drawings.
  • Ability to utilize precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment to monitor product quality.
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace environment while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and good organizational skills.
  • Must be proactive and show initiative in taking on and completing injection molding projects.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Must be able to lift boxes and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform tasks that require repetitive actions at times.
  • Must be able to accurately discern color differences.
