DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL CYTOGENETICS

Our Client is seeking a Pathologist or PhD Clinical Cytogeneticist to join the Division of Clinical Pathology as Section Director or Associate Section Director for it's Diagnostic Clinical Cytogenetics Laboratory, depending on qualifications and experience. The candidate should have board certification or board eligibility in Clinical Cytogenetics through the American Board of Medical Genetics or equivalent. Expertise in Molecular Diagnostics and array CGH is desirable but not required. Compensation and rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. Physician candidates should be qualified for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Wisconsin. The successful candidate will be expected to provide medical direction and oversight of the clinical cytogenetics operations. This will require working closely with Laboratory managers and technical personnel, as well as interfacing with hospital administration as appropriate. The successful candidate will also have major responsibilities for the instruction of pathology residents and medical students in clinical cytogenetics, and thus demonstrable achievement in medical and/or graduate medical education is highly desirable. The candidate will also have a track record or clear potential for development of an independent program of scholarly achievement.
This department has a volume of about 8 million tests, utilizing state-of-the-art facilities to provide a full menu of routine and esoteric laboratory testing (including molecular diagnostics, flow cytometry, and cytogenetics). In addition to providing the on-site laboratory services for surrounding Hosptials and Laboratories and also functions as a reference laboratory serving patients and physicians throughout Wisconsin.
