Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Clinical Chemistry

The Clinical Laboratory Technologist is to perform specimen analysis and report results accurately and following established procedures. The Clinical Lab Technologist is also responsible for recognizing deviation from expected results, analyzing and correcting problems using scientific principle and performing instrument maintenance/ troubleshooting.


• Perform technical duties with minimal supervision, as assigned.
• Assure accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory's SOP's.
• Prepare specimens and operate automated analyzers.
• Perform manual tests in accordance with detailed instructions.
• Interpret and correlate clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition to explain test results (normal and abnormal) so that proper action can be taken.
• Troubleshoot testing process or result discrepancies.
• Calibrate, standardize, adjust and maintain laboratory instruments. Perform routine and advanced equipment maintenance.
• Conduct quality control procedures on equipment, reagents, and products.
• Maintain complete, accurate, well organized and up-to-date records/logs/files.
• Maintain adequate inventories of reagents and supplies.
• Continuously assess work processes and makes suggestions to leadership for improved work methods and ways to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and solve operational problems.

• Bachelor's degree with a major in a biological, chemical, physical, or related science, from an accredited College/University.
• Minimum two years of relevant work experience required.
• MUST have STRONG experience with Clinical Chemistry experience
• Must have the education and experience equivalent to the guidelines mandated by CLIA/CLIS (CLIA-88 regulations (42CFR493.1487 through 1491).
• ASCP certification preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).
