Position Overview:
 
Location: Washington Support Office - State, Tribal, Local, Plans & Grants Division
  • Performs extensive cataloging of previously submitted grant products in the NPS digital repository. Creates and updates cataloging tracking spreadsheets. Reports cataloging progress on a regular basis
  • Appraises and arranges Federal records, assists with transferring records to Federal Records Centers and/or the National Archives
  • Assists with the evaluation, storage, organization, and accessibility of electronic records to ensure quality and adherence to accepted records management practices
  • Coordinates and carries out recommendations for digitization of records, architectural plans and specifications, and other grant products
  • Plans, organizes, and promotes records maintenance and disposition within the division
Qualifications:
 
Applicants for the position should hold a bachelor's degree (or higher) in historic preservation, museum studies, public history, library science, or similar preferred and/or experience in archival policies, cataloging, research methodologies, or collections/ records management. Applicants that are currently enrolled at a university/college pursuing one of the listed degree fields are also encouraged to apply. The Intern must be resourceful, adaptable, and able to work comfortably alone or in a group.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Compensation is at a rate of $15 per hour, 40 hours per week.
