This 11-week program is a rigorous work and learning experience that provides exposure to the Bureau of Land Management, development and training opportunities, and the opportunity to make a lasting impression on generations to come. Participants will gain experience in STEM fields, communications, office and resource management, inventory strategy, and more full-time opportunities within the agency. This internship will begin June 3, 2018, and continue full-time for 11 weeks.

Project Goals include assisting project lead in developing planning materials, assisting in field inspections (photographing, measuring, surveying) and preparing inspection forms and photographs for inclusion in Bridge and Dam Inspection Reports. Internal interactions will be coordinating with NOC Project Leads for Bridges and Dams, and field representatives, including Engineering Technicians, Field / State Engineers and occasionally resource managers.

Major duties will include:
  • Review BLM Bridge Inspection Program and procedures
  • Finalize Inspection Reports for all inspected bridges in WY and CO.
  • Develop Stream Cross Sections in AutoCAD for all bridges that are reported to the NBI.
  • Update the National Bridge Inventory, FAMS and Sharepoint Bridge Files with all Bridge Inspection Findings from FY18.
  • Finalize Inspection Reports for all inspected bridges

BS Civil Engineering
