Client is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer at our brand new 117,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility. The Electrical Engineer will provide technical support to customers on Company electrical products.  Responsibilities also include testing and developing designs for new custom linear motion products.  Specifically this person will:
80% of the role is customer support – training/trouble-shooting/review product design / quotation and sales
• 20% of the role is other testing and developing new products (ex. Linear induction motors) (R&D)
  1. Provides Sales and customers with technical support on all Company Electrical products (AC & DC motors, AC drives and controllers)
  2. Selects, tests, qualifies and implements third party controllers dedicated to operate with Company motion systems.
  3. Monitors and tests new products from Taiwan including motors, drives and controllers.
  4. Monitors conformity of Company motors, drives and controllers to North American codes and Standards.
  5. Meets with customers to review product requirements, training and trouble-shooting on product design and function. Some travel may be required.
  6. Documents all project information for the successful completion of each job. Maintains engineering files containing customer criteria and specifications, drawings, and compliance to Electrical codes.
  7. Reviews test samples against drawing and customer specification. Documents all necessary modifications.
  8. Attends product review meetings. Provides feedback pertaining to product design.
  9. Attends trade shows and conventions to provide technical support to Company Sales representatives.
 
Job Qualifications:
Experience
  1. Electrical Engineering Bachelor's  Degree required
  2. 1-5 years electrical engineering experience preferably in the linear motion product and technology design field
  3. Strong knowledge of Electric motors (AC servo & PM synchronous motors), AC servo drives, feedback control of electric motors and Industrial controllers such as Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Delta Tau, Siemens. Past experience coding and implementing motors and drives a plus.
  4. Two years SolidWorks software experience or equivalent
  5. Experience with Industrial controller programming and implementation.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1. Prior experience working with measuring instruments, Microsoft Office, CAD, and SolidWorks software

  3. Excellent organizational skills
  4. Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and properly prioritize activities.
