Travel: 75% (Domestic and International)

Experience Required: Three to six years of experience in a hands-on mechanical/electrical environment. Must be able to work in a multi-disciplined engineering environment, often under pressure-filled conditions. Must have experience in dealing with customers to resolve problems. The ability to read drawings, reference manuals and assembly systems instruction guides is essential. Must have experience and be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Individual must have the ability to gain knowledge to readily determine parts of an assembly. Requires excellent interpersonal and commercial skills.


OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for servicing both warranty and non-warranty issues at the customers' facility. Also responsible for supporting the development of service quotations and processing service orders for customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment at the customer's facility and make the necessary adjustments to bring equipment up to running status.
  • Travel to both domestic and international customer locations.
  • Resolve service requirements over the phone if possible.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve technical issues at customer sites.
  • Receive P.O. from customer and confirm that pricing and terms are consistent with the quote sent to the customer.
  • Make recommendations to repair/replace only items that require repair/replacement.
  • Follow customer's plant and safety regulations while at their facility.
  • Complete in detail a Service Report for the services provided in a timely manner.
  • Make follow-up calls with the customer to verify that the problem has been resolved or organize future calls should the need be required.
  • Facilitate warranty/non-warranty claims with the customer.
  • Assist the Service Advisor and Manager, Service in resolving service accounts receivable issues.
  • Responsible for keeping up with current products and equipment used.
  • Maintain Service Reports and Service Bulletins as required and mail to the appropriate departments.
  • Be available to be on call on a rotational basis.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding customer expectations in an efficient manner.
  • Assist other department staff as defined by the Manager, Service.
  • Take on temporary or permanent assignments as defined by the Manager, Service.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
  • Maintain International Standardization Organization (ISO) standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: A post-secondary diploma or degree specializing in controls programming, mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • The employee may be required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
  • Exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 25 pounds of force frequently.
  • Visual Acuity – Normal requirements for reading written instructions and computer screens
  • Hearing Ability – Normal requirements for understanding verbal instructions.
  • Working Conditions – The employee is subject to exposure to high noise levels and/or physical hazards when working on the manufacturing floor.
