JOB DESCRIPTION:
Client is a solution engineering and product management organization with employees spanning multiple Client locations globally.  Client takes the lead in driving Converged Infrastructure innovations by working across all Client’s product lines and engineering groups, professional services organization and partners to deliver architected, developed, tested and documented solutions that enable customers to realize value in the datacenter and cloud markets. 
CIG is recruiting a Senior Program Manager to drive and manage the lifecycle of programs supporting Client’s Service Provider and Hybrid Converged Infrastructure portfolio, across multiple areas of Client’s business as well as external key partners, as part of the company's overall Cloud and Hybrid Computing solutions development activities. 
JOB SUMMARY
  • Plan, lead, and manage product or solution programs. Take an active role in leading a cross functional teams spanning across companies, often including key development partners, focused on driving program execution from definition through successful release and transfer to operations.
  • A challenging position with the opportunity to work collaboratively with like professionals in the Engineering, Alliances, and Professional Services functions, and to positively influence greater business outcomes.
  • Program manage a virtual program team of professionals from Engineering, Product Management, Product Marketing, Operations/Finance, Sales and Alliances, to drive all pertinent issues related to the program life cycle.
  • Provide input into planning and managing company resources to execute development project or project components from design phase through implementation.
  • Identify and communicate project scope and ensure program milestones and objectives are met.
  • Keep management and stakeholders informed of key issues and changes which may impact expected business results.
  • Analyze problems and drive solutions involving multiple elements of program planning.
  • Ensure that projects adhere to the company processes, and initiate process improvements as needed.
  • Manage 3rd party contracts as required to successfully deliver the program, including management of scope, schedules, performance, financials (including outlooks), and IP protection.
  • Work with key beachhead account teams to align and manage customer expectations and early field trials of the solution.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to act as the key interface and partner with internal and external development teams span across companies
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a distributed and virtual team environment to meet aggressive goals, while responding to changing business and technical conditions. Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Prioritize and address multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to develop long-range project plans and schedules to complete complex projects. Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  • The tasks this individual is responsible are often unstructured and require new perspectives and creative approaches.
  • Demonstrate initiative and good judgment in preventing problems and proposing solutions to identified issues.
  • Demonstrate leadership and vision in determining and driving both tactical and strategic decisions.
  • This individual must work effectively with Staff to Executive level employees within and across the function.
  • Limited supervision is provided, as this individual can operate, set priorities, and drive results independently.
  • The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience is required.
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to have successfully delivered multiple, complex programs.
  • PMP is preferred, experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies an advantage.
  • Prior experience in solutions development in addition to hardware or software is a plus.
