Responsible for the firmware design and development activities associated with high volume electronic products associated with the AMI industry. Essential Functions: · Firmware development incorporates all aspects of firmware design from concept to production launch. · Ensure firmware captures and maintains system-level behavior and constraint requirement. · Develop and implement strategy to validate resulting systems against customer requirements. Thus the firmware design and development responsibilities include the development and implementation of design verification test procedures. · Responsible for the overall quality of the firmware incorporated in the system, its performance against customer requirements and it's on schedule delivery. · All designs are to exceed requirements of governing agencies (i.e., FCC and FM) and must be capable of listing with these agencies where applicable. · Capable of interacting in a team environment and working with others to achieve the best possible end product from all functional viewpoints. · Familiar with DFMA principles as related to both electronic and mechanical fabrication and assembly processes. · Capable of capturing and directing corrective actions in response to field complaints and supply issues. Additional Responsibilities: · Ability to accept complete project responsibility.
Skills Required: o Competent working with Microsoft Office and other related software utilizing a Windows platform. o Advance background in microprocessor application development. o C/ C++ programming with target for embedded processor w/RTOS. o Basic understanding hardware interfaces. o Familiarity with communications, protocol selection, and network configuration. o Background in embedded firmware development for StrongARM series microprocessors.
Education Required: Minimum of Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Science Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
