Ophthalmic Tech

MUST:
5 plus years of experience as an ophthalmic technician.
Demonstrated comprehension of the ophthalmic technician skills
Ability to perform comprehensive work-ups on up to 4 patients per hour.
Ability to perform different visual acuity tests
Manual lensometry
Confrontational visual fields
Stereo testing
Evaluations and motility
Evaluation of motility
Pupillary function tests
Color plates
Applanation tonometry
Advanced refractometry
Retinoscopy
Angle assessment
Dilation of pupils
Contact lens evaluations
Visual field testing
Optic nerve scanning (i.e. OCT, HRT, GDx)
Pachymetry
Corneal topography
A Scan and B Scan
Ophthalmic imaging
Some college preferred
Strong computer skills including utilizing EMR

DUTIES:
Duties of the Ophthalmic tech include but are not limited to the following:

Perform Visual acuity tests
Performs duties consistent with ophthalmic writer/scribe.
Assists physician with laser procedures.
Assists physician with minor surgery, maintaining practice standards of sterile technique and infection control.
Provides patient education and counseling and go over pre-op and post op instructions
Obtain patient's vitals
Maintains stock
Triage patients
