2+ years of Medical Billing experience
Must have a strong understanding of QuickBooks
Must have knowledge of ICD-9; ICD-10 knowledge is preferred
Must have in and out of network billing
Must be familiar with EMR SYSTEM (Intergy)


The Medical Biller will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Must answer telephone or mailing inquiries regarding rates, routing, or procedures
Must be able to post charges and adjustments to patients account
Must post and process patients payment to their account
Must contact or follow up with patient insurance carrier, attorney, or claim adjustor in an effort to process patient bills
Must set up payment arrangement with patients regarding patient's bills
Must estimate market value of products or services
Must calculate fee schedules
Must be responsible for coding operative notes and for auditing physician documentation for selection of E/M service codes
Must provide excellent customer service skills and professional telephone conduct with patients, physician clients, and insurance company representatives
Must post charges and adjustments to patients account
Must keep record of invoices and support documents
Must be Able to operate typing, adding, calculating, or billing machines
Must perform bookkeeping work, including posting data or keeping other records concerning costs of goods or services or the shipment of goods
Must contact patients to obtain or relay account information
Must consult sources such as rate books, manuals, or insurance company representatives to determine specific charges or information such as rules, regulations, or government tax and tariff information
Must prepare itemized statements, bills, or invoices and record amounts due for items purchased or services rendered
Must resolve discrepancies in accounting records
Must review compiled data on operating costs and revenues to set rates
Must review documents such as purchase orders, sales tickets, charge slips, or hospital records to compute fees or charges due
Must type billing documents, shipping labels, credit memorandums, or credit forms, using typewriters or computers
Must update manuals when rates, rules, or regulations are amended
Must verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
Other duties as assigned
