Must be a Registered Nurse
3+ years of clinical nursing experience

1+ year of experience doing Utilization Review
Must have an active and valid DC Registered Nurse licensure
Must have Utilization Review/ Utilization Management experience
Demonstration of excellent clinical skills with ability to prioritize work effectively
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability and comfort in working with physicians, allied health professionals and other members of the health care team
Knowledge of current regulatory environment as it pertains to effective Care Management

The Case Manager- Registered Nurse will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
Facilitating the patient's hospitalization from pre-admission through discharge. Coordinates with the interdisciplinary team to expedite medically appropriate, cost- effective patient care
Applies clinical expertise and medical appropriateness criteria to resource utilization and transition/ discharge planning, advises the healthcare team, and provides leadership as needed to achieve optimal outcomes
Applies the use of data in his/her practice; identifying where to focus effort, the measurement of progress toward identified outcomes, and as an educational tool
This individual possesses excellent interpersonal skills and works to effect positive practice changes that lead to improvements in patient care while addressing the financial implications of decisions
