MUST:
Experienced IA Analyst
10 plus years of experience working in the field of IT/security, information management to include IT governance, IT project management, developing and maintaining IT policies and processes, or related experience that shows progressive growth and working closely with all levels of Federal and contractor staff.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
Demonstrated experience in performing and interpreting vulnerability assessments and risk assessments.
Experience Perform and interpret vulnerability scans, conducting risk assessments, and reviewing security plans and procedures.
Experience producing risk reports for senior management highlighting areas of concern, identify and brief risk items in security plans, policies and procedures,
Excellent written and communications skills. Individual will need to present both written and oral briefings to members of the Senior Executive Service on diverse topics with little or no warning.
Strong technical skills based on experience in an operational network/administrative environment required
CISSP or similar security certification required
Experience and strong familiarity with Federal security requirements (NIST 800-37, 800-39, 800-60, FIPS 199/200, etc.) Familiarity with a wider range of cyber security vulnerabilities including network, operating system, and application specific vulnerabilities.
At least a BS or BA degree (or equivalent) in a related subject required
Active Secret Clearance required

DUTIES
The Sr. Information Assurance in the Office of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Information Technology Division located in Washington DC. This position requires extensive knowledge and experience with information protection, cyber security practices and standards.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform and interpret vulnerability scans, conducting risk assessments, and reviewing security plans and procedures.
Produce risk reports for senior management highlighting areas of concern, identify and brief risk items in security plans, policies and procedures, advise the FHWA Sr. * Management representative(s) on information security risks and recommend protective measures.
Responsible for interpreting the cyber security program in the defined security domains of security management practices; access control systems and methodology; telecommunications and networking security; cryptography; security architecture and models; operations security; application and systems development security; physical security; business continuity and
disaster recovery planning; and laws, investigation, and ethics.
Responsible for developing strong working relationships with project personnel at headquarters and at field sites.
