2+ year of medical office experience
2+ years of Medical Billing and Medical Administrative experience
Must have a strong understanding HIPPA

Must have experience with EMR
Must have experience reviewing claims
Must have experience posting payments
Must have experience reviewing EOB's
Must be reliable and self-motivated with excellent organizational skills
Ability to multitask with strong attention to details
Strong medical terminology and procedure understanding
Able to work independent with minimal supervision to meet position related goals and deadlines
Proficient at analyzing and troubleshooting problems
Exceptional communication and customer service skills

The Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Working knowledge of the entire medical billing cycle from verifying patient eligibility and benefits, posting patient charges, submitting claims, adjudicating insurance remittance and ensuring proper reimbursement
Creating, coding and submitting claims manually and electronically
Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments in office and outpatient/inpatient surgeries
Verifying insurances and obtaining authorizations
Strong background working insurance aging reports and accounts aging reports
Estimating and collecting payments due and daily financial reconciliation
Ability to customize insurance estimates in the software and present to patients
Reviewing denials, processing appeals as well correcting claim errors
Following up on inpatient and outpatient billing, and collections operations
Exceptional customer service skills, ability to build patient relationships, and resolve and patient requests or complaints with positive outcome and patient retention
Ability to work with team members to meet and exceed office goals
Assisting with other duties as needed including managing front desk
