Wound Care experience is ideal

Ambulatory care or Med Surge experience is ideal

Knowledge of principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment. Knowledge of examinations, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of medications and their effect on patients.
Ability to calculate dosages as needed.
Skill in administering a variety of treatments and medication, as directed. Ability to take vital signs and maintain records
Computer skills and aptitude, and prefer previous experience with EHR systems.
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
Good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patient, medical staff, and the public. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Performs general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with nursing standards. Observes, records, and reports patients condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians. Dispenses medication as directed. Documentation is complete, accurate, and legible. Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in the collection of samples and tests. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
Directs and oversees nursing personnel in accordance with clinic, governmental and other regulatory standards. Develops weekly nursing schedule and makes daily nursing assignments.
In conjunction with Nurse Manager performs designated personnel management functions to include interviewing, hiring, orienting new nursing staff and coaching/ mentoring and counseling existing staff. Will participate with Nurse Manager or Unit administrator in formal discipline situations to include terminations.
Performs quality control functions. Performs regular equipment checks (such as code carts, refrigerator logs and the monitoring of oxygen tanks) or delegates this responsibility with oversight. Responsible for drug and quality assurance checks to ensure department is within acceptable standards.
Oversees clinic inventory of pharmaceuticals and supplies. Orders pharmacy items to include vaccines, antibiotics, and antipyretics. Performs monthly reconciliation of pharmacy account to assure accuracy and maintain fiscal objectives. Advises Administrator of any fiscal variances from budget.
Participates in quality improvement objectives and assists in maintaining fiscal objectives of the Wound Care Center by recognizing cost reduction opportunities.
Assists in special clinical/research projects when necessary by implementing nursing component.

Performs patient telephone triage, assesses needs, and coordinates needs with medical staff.
Educates patient and family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness.
Coordinates the charge/billing process for consultations and surgery with Physicians and Residents.
Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
