MUST:
Experienced Nurse Manager
2 plus years of professional experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensing: Possess a valid Maryland Registered Nurse License.
3 years clinical expertise in gastrointestinal endoscopy nursing preferred.
Equivalent of two (2) years experience in administration of IV conscious sedation and monitoring in gastrointestinal endoscopy or critical care nursing.
2 years of supervisory level experience.
Current BLS/ACLS certification.
Certification in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy desired.
Ability to deal compassionately, professionally, and courteously with patients, their families, physicians, and fellow CE staff
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word for Windows and Excel
Ability to collect data for trending and benchmarking as well as provide or oversee submission of related documentation to the Board of directors in spreadsheet and graph form

DUTIES:
Nurse Manager Demonstrates a commitment to goal oriented, individualized patient care.
Conducts regular meetings with Nurse Administrator and nursing staff to facilitate goal attainment and promote communication.
Works with Nurse Administrator to schedule for appropriate coverage and utilization of clinical staff.
Assumes 24-hour responsibility for the management of the Center and clinical operations in the absence of the Nurse Administrator.
Aids staff members in functioning according to the responsibilities of their positions.
Maintains a working relationship with physicians and ensures accurate interpretation of the physician's plan of care.
Communicates relevant information to physicians and staff to maintain continuity of care.
Promotes smooth interaction with other departments and fosters good interdepartmental relations.
Works with the Nurse Administrator with compiling Local & IVCS Services policies and procedures, ensuring compliance to Center, State. Medicare, and Accreditation requirements.
Promotes staff development by identifying individual and group learning needs and by providing informal learning experiences.
Works with the Nurse Administrator in helping to implement, and manage an orientation program for new nursing personnel.
Works with Nurse Administrator to assess, implement and manage a staff development program for all nursing personnel.
Directs and evaluates all operational and personnel activities in the clinical area.
Delegate's adequate authority to clinical staff to properly perform assigned responsibilities.
Performs other duties as required and directed by the Nurse Administrator, Medical Director and Medical Staff.
Serves as a member of Quality Improvement Committee, compiles QI data
Works with the Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with the Environment of Care programs.
Functions as back up for nursing staff as required.
Facilitates repair and/or replacement of equipment as needed, if Nurse Administrator absent.
Ensures environmental and electrical safety policies are followed.
Ensures universal precautions and the OSHA program are followed.
Ensures on-going compliance with accreditation readiness policies and functions by helping the Nurse Administrator as required.
Participates in on-going educational opportunities related to position, ensuring professional growth for herself/himself, the staff, and the Center as a whole.
