Network Engineer - Senior
Germantown, MD

MUST:
Experienced Senior Network Engineer
5+ years of experience configuring and administering Cisco network equipment
3+ year experience configuring Cisco Nexus and Catalyst Ethernet switches
Must be comfortable communicating directly with external clients
Experience with support and implementation of IPv4 and IPv6
Experience with TACACS+, RADIUS, LDAP authentication
Domain Name Service (DNS) configuration and administration
Solid understanding of BGP and OSPF routing protocols
Experience working with networking technologies in a virtual infrastructure - ASAv, Nexus 1000v
Experience with packet capture and analysis- Sniffer, Wireshark
Experience with Domain Name Service (DNS) configuration and administration
Ability to configure and manage SolarWinds NPM and ELM
Ability to documenting network configurations and/or designs
Experience with the following is a plus; Fiber Channel infrastructure and switch configuration, DWDM equipment, Alcatel-Client network equipment, cloud environment, firewall and intrusion prevention system administration

EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS:
Must have a Bachelors in a technical field or equivalent experience
CCNP in Routing and Switching or Security are preferred
CCNA or better technical certification in Cisco Data Center is a plus
CCNA Routing and Switching is acceptable with demonstrated experience
Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

DUTIES:
The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for the following:
Provide network services support to both internal and external clients
Administration of network equipment including firewalls, IPS, network routers, switches, wireless access points and DWDM equipment such as Cisco, Juniper, etc.
Application of security updates and software patches
Monitor network usage and assess network performance
Present network planning recommendations to management
Assist sales team with design and configuration requirements for prospective clients
Install and maintain data communication networks including LAN's, WAN's, internet, intranet, etc.
Setup and teardown network infrastructures for client exercises
Other duties as assigned
