We seek an Account Manager / Sales Engineer for a direct-hire opportunity in Boston, MA.  

The Account Manager / Sales Engineer must possess exceptional business acumen, work independently with a high level of professionalism, persistence, motivation and ownership in fulfilling all responsibilities. The Account Manager / Sales Engineer will strive to make significant contributions to company’s long term growth and product strategy.
Ability to develop new contacts and relationships at OEM accounts, communicate  company’s capabilities, identify and qualify new opportunities based on company’s business model, assess customer needs, influence and manage customer’s product development process, apply application engineering and/or design engineering expertise to develop custom motion solutions.
  • Consistently meet and strive to exceed territory sales goal and profit levels
  • Make significant contributions to company’s growth and product strategies.
  • A minimum of 5 to 8 days of business travel and customer visits per month in the regional assigned territory. Requirement excludes travel time to/from assigned territory.
  • Promptly follow-up on leads and inquiries from any new accounts and all existing assigned accounts.
  • Develop new growth opportunities and OEM (original equipment manufacturer) accounts for products and engineered custom motion solutions.
  • Develop strategies which maintain and improve existing business and customer relationships with the goal of becoming customer’s motion system design “partner”.
  • Provide customers with competent application engineering assistance and technical support for all products and engineered custom motion solutions.
  • Develop an in depth working knowledge of assigned product line as well as those of the competition.  Develop new applications for assigned product line by understanding their fit and function in relation to the customer’s needs.
  • Manage all communication and account management (i.e. coordination, scope, milestones) at each phase of customer’s product development process. Includes all project information and requirements communicated between customer engineering team and internal groups.
  • Prepare, review and negotiate special pricing, customer requirements and customer agreements with support from management and other departments as required.
  • Manage RMA process and all communications between customer and internal groups ; prepare reports on findings, corrective action plans and delivery recovery plans.
  • Minimum of 5-10 OEM account management experience is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering and application experience with motion components, systems and solutions. Sales engineering or application engineering experience with OEM customers is acceptable and preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or 10 years equivalent engineering experience in the application and/or design of motion components is required. Equivalent experience may include sales engineering or application engineering experience. Application experience in medical market is desirable.
  • Proven record of consistent growth which meets and frequently exceeds the company’s sales goals.
  • Ability to travel to any assigned territory in North America is required.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications plus a thorough understanding of the definition and application of various electrical, mechanical, dimensional and environmental specifications is required.
  • Sales or engineering experience with servo motors, steppers motors, gearheads, linear actuators, drives and control products is a big plus.
