IT Vendor and Contract Administrator
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing and vendor relationship strategies
  • Work closely within IT to serve as the IT point of contact for product and service contract support, analysis, and negotiations
  • Coordinate the financial practices and procedures associated with managing contracts
  • Assist in the acquisition, negotiation, and renewal functions related to IT vendor contracts
  • Evaluate and determine the most cost effective and efficient means of acquiring IT hardware, software, and services
  • Build relationships with customers, vendors, and internal employees
  • Ensure contracts/licenses will cover potential scope and use of IT hardware, software, and services
  • Seek optimal value in service from vendors, review and monitor performance and ROI metrics, and initiate contract modifications
  • Qualify vendors and provide information needed to maintain an appropriate vendor database and tracking system to manage the contract life cycle process
Qualifications:
  • Ability to obtain a low-level U.S. security clearance, which requires thorough background screens and U.S. citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, or related field or an extra 4 years of job-related experience
  • 10 years of experience in vendor relationship management, contract negotiation/management, and/or IT procurement
  • Understanding of distributed system IT infrastructure
  • Experience working in an IT organization size of greater than 500 people
  • Strong mainframe or distributed systems contract negotiation skills
  • Experience with an asset management system
  • Understanding of technical products and service needs across an IT enterprise
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Experience with contractual/financial modeling techniques
  • Experience supporting multiple contracts and enterprise agreements
  • Experience creating new contract metrics to competitively compensate vendors
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
