Position: Director of Operations - Plant/Site Manager
The position is responsible for all manufacturing and day-to-day production management of one or more of the Company's manufacturing facilities. The position is responsible for championing continuous improvement and operational efficiency objectives through the cost effective allocation and utilization of assigned resources (Machines, Materials, Human) and maintenance of optimal manufacturing capacity to efficiently and effectively support the strategic and financial goals of the Company.


Direct reports: (5) Production Manager, Production Control Manager, Inventory Control Manager, Plant Engineering Manager, Administrative Assistant
Indirect reports: (2) Quality Control, Process Engineer

  • Maintains overall responsibility for all activities in the manufacturing function.
  • Manage the process to create, maintain and execute a master production schedule (MPS). Maintain a detailed schedule for production activities. Produce product in accordance with MPS. Provide routine reporting schedules.
  • Hire, train and schedule the production staff in support of the MPS.
  • Oversee the documentation of the production process, including manufacturing work instructions, bills of materials, test procedures and quality acceptance procedures.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9000 practices and procedures.
  • Oversee the requisitioning of materials in support of the master production schedule. Minimize production lead times and inventory levels while achieving performance on key reporting metrics.
  • Approval and implementation of Design Control documentation and follow revision control and configuration control policies.
  • Manage the workforce and material flow to create the most efficient process to meet the production schedule.
  • Ensure that all products are manufactured and tested to the highest quality and in conformance to all technical specifications.
  • Maintain appropriate manufacturing metrics. Introduce and execute initiatives to continually improve manufacturing process. Fully implement MRP and ERP system to control manufacturing activities.
  • Manage the introduction of new products and processes to manufacturing.
  • Responsible for the safeguard of materials in the stockroom, WIP and FG.
  • Responsible for the manufacturing infrastructure including facility layout and capital equipment.
  • Ensure that all human safety, ergonomic, legal, environmental reporting and other certification requirements are fulfilled.
  • Operate in full compliance to the approved quality system.
  • Participate in customer visits, proposals and other business development needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


College degree or equivalent; at least 10 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
