Engineering Technician- Process Coatings Technician

  • Execute and manage thin film coating tasks, including wet film coating, metrology, property testing, and data analysis. Includes following SOPs and Test Instructions in a clean device prototyping environment.
  • Maintain and stock materials as necessary to support film coating and processing.
  • Detailed inspection and verification of process quality standards, including documentation and metrology utilizing microscopy and metrology equipment.
  • Hands-on work within a laboratory setting handling sensitive optical and electronic parts and materials.
  • Perform and document in-process quality checks.
  • Ability to work in cleanroom microassembly environment by maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and keep equipment fully functioning.
  • Maintain clean room integrity by using proper attire and adherence to clean room environment practices and procedures.
  • Prepare lot history records where necessary.
  • Work with engineers and technicians to resolve line issues and suggest improvements.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 3 years of hands-on experience in microelectronic, optical, or medical device coating or assembly
  • Attention to detail, proactive, organized and thorough with a desire for continuous improvement
  • Ability to utilize basic math skills
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
  • Able to work in a laboratory environment (standing, sitting, stooping) for long periods
  • Background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
  • Prior experience in medical device and/or optical coatings, inspection, and electronic evaluation
  • Experience with microscopy
  • Ability to track, document, and assess process-related quality issues
  • Prior experience in a clean room environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as ability to communicate effectively with scientists and engineers from a wide range of technical backgrounds
  • Attention to detail, proactive, organized and thorough with a desire for continuous improvement
