As the Sr. Data Analyst/Technical Product Manager for BigData, you will work across various Samsung teams to take our internal enterprise data and analytics capabilities to the next level. You will have the opportunity to help optimize our company performance through our data value chain by enabling decisions to be more data driven, agile, accurate and predictive. This role is a key member of the Big Data Analytics team and will be responsible for enhancing and executing our program vision and strategy.
About you
You're a data-obsessed Product Manager who thinks about the best ways to leverage data for insights and improving product experiences. You are familiar with current data analytics technology and tools, and more importantly, you understand the point of it all – to produce solid insights to drive business decisions. You have a high level of intellectual curiosity and comfort level with ambiguity. You represent the voice of the customer and are excited to understand business drivers and customer journey. You don't take requests and issues at face value and know how to truly get to the core of the problem to make sure we understand what we are building and why. You also think big picture and cross functionally for more correlated and integrated enterprise level solutions. You keep up to speed on the latest happenings in the big data landscape and can't wait to pour through rich data sets to help make our products better, our users more informed, and our internal team more productive. You constantly think about experimentation and want to help drive a cultural of continuous testing. Most importantly, you enjoy being part of a fast-paced, collaborative team and want to be an integral part of the process of developing apps that make users happy and more productive.

Day-to-day, you will:
  • Proactively work with business units and teams to understand and translate data-driven initiatives and potential ideas into fully developed IT services and solutions
  • Synthesize ideas and suggestions from stakeholders and users to determine what to build based on business priorities, strategy and vision
  • Create and manage the data analytics roadmap
  • Partner with Service Owner, Service Architect and Data Scientist to shape the development of prioritized solutions
  • Ensure that proposed solutions fit and built within planned and existing technical architectures
  • Communicate and present ideas, data analytics strategy, vision and roadmap to cross functional executive groups
  • Advise business units on how to leverage our existing enterprisewide analytics technologies, platforms and data assets in the most effective and efficient manner
  • Lead working groups to identify and implement formalized information delivery standards, governance and frameworks
  • Solicit customer evaluation of Data Analytics performance and devise measures for improvement
  • Help drive adoption and utilization of expanding company data and analytics assets
Your skillset likely includes:
  • 6-10 years' experience in a large IT organization with responsibility and demonstrated success for developing Data and Analytics products or services
  • BS degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Visualization tools such as Power BI ,Tableu and Microstrategy
  • Good knowledge of metadata, and using/managing metadata
  • Excellent communication skills and can confidently communicate to all levels of the business from operational to executive
  • Experience working with cross functional teams to develop products and services. Ability to build interdepartmental relationships
  • Desire to make a difference, engage customers, shape a strategy and build the right solution
  • Exceptional critical reasoning, creative thinking and problem solving skills. Ability to Client out edge cases, identify dependencies and Client out the if/then in any scenario
  • Familiarity with the identification and resolution of issues working with disparate sources of data and data quality issues
  • Ability to dig into the fine details of projects but also articulate product strategy and vision
  • Experience working with web, mobile logs and transaction systems
  • Experience with data analysis, experimentation and measurement tools like Optimizely, our client Analytics, or homebuilt systems
  • Working experience building integrations between different products
  • Ability to research and contribute (from a PM perspective) on API development
  • Working SQL and database design knowledge
  • Self-starter requires minimal supervision
  • Strong project management skills
