Project Overview:
You will provide strategic, analytical and technical support for the Business Intelligence activities for your team. You will use your business acumen and technical knowledge to develop and deliver Business Intelligence solutions for your internal customers and work with the business in understanding their evolving requirements. You will also work closely with Engineering to deliver practical solutions of real business benefit, and design and develop your own prototype solutions.

Our client's Music Programming Team represents a team of 50+ local music experts dedicated to offer a culturally localised user experience in all markets, develop and break tracks & emerging artists as well as improving metadata quality & ensuring overall product excellence.

As a Data Analyst you will be reporting directly to the PM team with responsibilities largely focused on but not limited to the analytics support of the Music Programming Team.

Overall Responsibilities:
Solve ad hoc challenges involving other teams such as Search & Discovery, applying analytical methods as needed including research and development analysis, forecasting, and optimization methods to improve the Programming team's performance.

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
  1. Setting up and improving the analytics capabilities required for the Music Programming Team to measure the performance and impact of its work - including:  Working with large, complex data sets to set up specific pipelines & dashboards around Programming performance (playlists, shelves, etc.) across client product surfaces (home, search, browse, library, trending, etc.);
  2. Creating feedback loop, identifying team's new dashboard needs & requirements; Monitoring logging changes & impact.
  3. Delivering business reports across the Programming Team's diverse focus areas - including reports around key Programming initiatives.
Required Skills:
  • BA/BS degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. preferred statistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar). Or, any other degree.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • Must have experience with databases and scripting languages (SQL, or similar).
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities and work efficiently in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
Nice to have Skills (not required):
  • Experience with statistical software is a plus (R, SAS, or similar).
  • 2-5 years of experience as a data analyst with a good understanding of music industry ecosystem.
