Position Overview:
This role is for a mid-level mechanical builder. You will assemble, test, and debug complex electro/mechanical devices, in a small-scale pilot production environment.

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
Assembly of precision electro/mechanical systems including tight tolerance mechanical assemblies, electrical wire routing, cable termination.
Align, fit, and assemble component parts, using hand tools, power tools, fixtures.
Install electrical and electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies, using soldering equipment and hand tools.

Overall Responsibilities:
Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
Test performance of electromechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as oscilloscopes, electronic voltmeters, and bridges.
Very good mechanical intuition, very “hands on”
Careful attention to detail and quality, able to catch and debug new not-seen-before problems
Design and build fixtures and tools to assist with assembly
Able to learn quickly by example and work in a fast-changing prototype environment where work may change week to week, without detailed step by step instructions
Run experiments to improve our processes
Run test stations and do light data entry
Flexible and able to take on different projects day to day as needed including assembly, repair, lab organization
Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.

Required Skills:
4-6 years of experience as a Engineering Technician
Able to read 3D diagrams and schematics
Able to assemble and repair builds and provide troubleshooting feedback to Engineers
Experience in circuit design and troubleshooting
Machining experience (mill, lathe, laser cutter)
3D CAD experience (Solidworks)
Able to work independetly
