Position Overview

As a Vehicle Systems Engineer, you will work closely with design engineers to ensure the vehicle meets our client’s standards of performance, quality, safety, and reliability. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within client company and our Vehicle OEM partners to develop & manage requirements, and develop & execute test plans. Using these test results, you will drive development of components and systems to meet requirements.

Overall Responsibilities:
  • Support engineers in writing and managing vehicle & flow-down requirements and defining the test program that demonstrates verification of those requirements
  • Create and execute a full vehicle test program that will evaluate the final performance of the vehicle and measure it against the defined requirements. You will plan and execute tests, analyze test data, analyze field issues, and understand and resolve defects, leveraging the operations team where possible
  • Document all test results with released test reports and distill lessons learned from test results to feedback into the design and requirements development.
Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
  1. Development of vehicle level requirements through data-driven methods.
  2. Creation of vehicle and sub-system test plans by communicating with cross-functional stakeholders.
  3. Execution of test plans and creation of test results reports.
Required Qualifications:
  • At least a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering
  • At least 2 years experience in an automotive mechanical and/or electrical design, systems engineering or vehicle evaluation role.
  • Experience in, and the ability to interact with vendors and vehicle OEMs

Nice to have skills:
  • A solid understanding of major automotive vehicle systems such as Powertrain, Thermal, Motion Control and Electrical Power supply and distribution systems is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with automotive OEM evaluation processes and facilities. Has an understanding of a typical vehicle and systems engineering development process and major milestones & deliverables.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to communicate with cross-functional teams.
  • Coding and scripting ability to scale large data sets and ability to draw conclusions via data analysis methods.
  • A strong root-cause analysis mindset to problem solving.
