Background Check Project Manager for Local Services by our client

Local Services by our client (https://www.our has an exciting new business opportunity for our client to deploy next generation advertising tools to underserved SMBs in the services space. The team is located here at our client's Main Campus in Mountain View. Why join this team? As a Background Check Project Manager, your primary duties will be to help develop our background check program which all SMBs must pass to be on the platform -- a key underpinning of Local Services' "our client Guarantee " value prop -- and manage the vendors that provide background check services. This includes creating new processes and operations, streamlining and scaling existing operations and working with the vendors to hit performance targets.
Local Services is in a very early stage, and flexibility and comfort in an ambiguous environment is a must! Be prepared for your day to day to shift as the product grows and new challenges present themselves.

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the background check vendors to hit performance targets and make progress on new projects
  2. Drive development of new background check processes, operations and policies
  3. Scale existing background check processes, operations and policies
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Research new background check requirements for new market launches
  • Gather and synthesize detailed business requirements.
  • Assess current and future business processes (As-Is and To-Be).
  • Apply analytical skills to rationalize change.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions to gather requirements.
  • Manage complex projects to major milestones.
  • Prepare executive briefings and project presentations (ability to "tell the story ").
  • Work in a fast-changing, fast-paced workplace
  • BA/BS degree
  • 2+ years of project management experience
  • Experience helping to grow a product that serves to connect consumers with small businesses
  • Experienced spreadsheets user (i.e. working familiarity with things like vlookup, regexmatch and pivot tables)
  • Experience creating reports to be shared at the team and leadership levels
  • Experience working in a solutions and client service-oriented environment, with an emphasis on creativity and relationships.
  • Ability to implement and drive projects forward while working collaboratively with internal and external clients.
  • Ability to analyze data and the ability to see beyond the numbers to drive sound decision-making.
  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work well in an environment with competing demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • SQL experience (Running and writing basic queries)
  • Experience working on a consumer technology product
