Global Trade Compliance Analyst

Project Overview:
This position is located in Mountain View, CA working with the Head of Global Trade Compliance and Americas Trade Compliance Manager for our client's Consumer Hardware & Nest. The role is intended to support the global trade compliance program for our client's hardware sales through our client Store and 3rd Party Retail. The ideal candidate will have some experience applying US, EMEA and/or APAC import/export rules and processes to enable seamless and compliant customs clearance around the world. The candidate will be expected to interact with our client's global operations team and our customs brokers, warehouse and transportation providers, as well as engage with our cross-functional and international our client & Nest teams.

Overall Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining on-going reporting and recordkeeping for global imports & export
  • Responding to monthly audit requests
  • Data analysis of global import data
  • Assistance with shipment monitoring and provision of compliance support for global import/export activity
  • Management of Item Master
  • Assistance with the re-design and implementation of global customs compliance processes, SOPs and compliance toolkits
Top 3 daily responsibilities:
  1. Assist on management of day to day import/export activities and global customs brokerage support
  2. Provide item master updates to customs broker and work with internal systems on extracting relevant information required for our brokers, carriers and warehouses to support our operations
  3. Attend meetings, take notes and perform discrete tasks as directed by the team
Required Skills:
  • US Customs brokerage licence and/or 3-5 years of experience working in a customs brokerage or international trade or customs practice
  • Familiarity with US, EU or other import and export regulations, including the HTS classification framework and Other Government Agency requirements
  • Proficiency in Excel with experience in manipulating ITRAC or equivalent import trade data
  • Ability to multi-tasks in a fast-pace environment
Nice to have:
  • BA/BS Degree, supply chain or international trade
  • Familiarity with ACE
