Business Analyst I

General Description:
 Assesses and makes recommendations to improve the effectiveness and functionality of information systems usage that may include business processes or workflows. Gathers and documents business cases and user requirements for new and existing processes.  Fields moderately complex questions, coordinates calls/meetings, and serves as the primary point person for transaction related issues within a line of business and/or functional system.  Trains new users and may act as a liaison between management, IT, and staff to promote and encourages use of various business initiatives, as needed.  Validates new ERP system functionality. 

Specific Requirements:
  • Point person and SME for ERP systems in Materials Operations department.
  • Oversee and provide support for daily department system operations.
  • Recognize/identify system challenges that could impact business.
  • Lead department team in troubleshooting of system issues.
  • Monitor multiple system interfaces for proper functionality.
  • Escalate system issues to associated corporate support teams when necessary and ensure solutions are provided.
  • Provide ongoing training to department and site for basic and advanced system skills.
  • Ensure system compliance with Quality and cGMP requirements.
  • Create and Maintain department system SOPs, work instructions, and training documents.
  • Work with Management on incorporating department goals and initiatives within framework of system capabilities.
  • Strive for process improvements within departments systems and related business processes driven by those systems.
ERP Business Process
  • Super User for ERP Optimization & Project Implementations
    • Develop and manage project plan milestones to meet time and cost schedules
    • Prepare and analyze data for conversion and migration activities
    • Maintain system data ensure accuracy and manage obsolescence & master data clean up
    • Recommend, prototype  & implement new ERP software functionality and solutions
    • Develop Customized variant and ad-hoc reports
  • Perform Data  Collection and Analysis  for Continuous Improvements and Performance Metrics
  • Act with urgency to identify and troubleshoot ERP software  bugs / fixes.  Escalate issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution.  
  • Serve as the Control Tower's and MatOps  Subject Matter ExpertScope: Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and assignments. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would normally require a moderate expenditure of resources to rectify.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in systems and databases used by department (IE SAP, TrackWise, Livelink, etc)
  • Ability to generate and analyze data and reports in ERP systems
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Strong writing skills and verbal communication abilities
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented with a customer focus
  • Ability to succeed in a project and deadline driven environment
  • Frequent internal company and external contacts. Represents organization on specific projects.
  • Works independently under general supervision and direction. Work is reviewed solely for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy. Performs work that requires decision making and the consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion.
Bachelor's degree and 3 - 5 years. Master's and 1 - 3 years.
