Sr SAS Programmer

 Senior Programmer Role
Programmer will be responsible for statistical programming, various source file extraction and conversion, analysis data creation, and reporting.  Programmer will be responsible for summarizing data by generating tables and descriptive statistics, conducting review of data transfers, producing specifications for derived variables and quality control checks. Programmer will be responsible to deliver timely and accurate outputs in a variety of different formats.  In addition to the above deliverables, this role will involve writing test scripts for validation of programs developed by other users.
Job Requirements 
  • Strong BASE SAS skills, with knowledge of advanced SAS functionality such as macros and SQL programming.
  • Working knowledge of SAS DATA step with conditional statements and variable creation; complex merges (including one-to-many merges); merges and concatenation; restructuring and outputting data.
  • Hands-on knowledge of SAS Output Delivery System to control output; reporting procedures; ad-hoc reporting.
  • Exposure to macros and arrays for repetitive tasks; advanced SAS procedure or technique understanding (e.g., repeated measures, SAS/Graph, etc.)
  • Experience of analyses using statistical procedures; descriptive statistics procedures for summarizing; advanced SAS statistical procedures.
  • Experience using SAS to process, report, and analyze clinical trial data.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and meet project deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills. Good verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Experience with interacting productively with members of other functional areas in clinical teams.
     
Other Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, computer science or related field, or equivalent combination of education.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience as a statistical programmer using SAS in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics or medical device environment. 
  • Knowledge of excel macros, VBA is a plus.
