Duties:
The worker will be designing, supporting and improving scientific workflow processes through the use of the Oracle platform, web application servers and various scripting languages. These processes with include the exploitation of Oracle chemical cartridges for the storage, query and retrieval of chemical structure information. The contractor will assist in maintaining established application infrastructure including, but not limited to content updates, code updates, performance tuning and troubleshooting. There will also be some aspects of direct user support (less than 25%).

Work will ideally be performed at the Sanofi Tucson (Oro Valley) research center during normal working hours (8am - 5pm) Monday through Friday. Remote candidates will be considered. On-site work may require infrequent proximity to chemical and biological substances. In these cases, proper safety practices (eye protection, lab coats, no open-toed shoes, etc.) are mandatory.

Skills:
Three or more years of hands-on database integration work. Knowledge of relational database design is expected. Experience with Oracle is preferred. Experience with chemical cartridges and Pipeline Pilot are highly desirable.
Strong reasoning skills, analytical and problem solving skills. Superior written and oral communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and activities and work under minimal direction.
Knowledge of the scientific research environment and associated computing platforms is a plus.
The following areas of experience would be pluses ; Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, IIS, Tomcat, SharePoint, Dotmatics, BioRails, Linux.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in information sciences, or related scientific or technical discipline, or MS in Chemistry or Biology related field with 3 years related experience.
