Job Description:
This international industry leader has an immediate 6+ month contract opportunity in Plano, TX for a DevOps Engineer. Will be responsible for providing DevOps project support to a QA Automation project. Key objectives include:
  • Develop Automated QA Solution for Rest API's using corporate approved technologies.
  • Work across IT and vendors to engage the right resources at the right time to ensure objectives/requirements are delivered on schedule.
  • Work with QA Automation SME to co-develop a test framework for Rest API's.
  • Work with the Delivery Manager and QA CoE Leadership Team to produce an integrated and scalable product.
  • Follow-up with each accountable IT and business area to ensure that deliverables remain on schedule.
  • Identify and assess risks inherent in the project and design around contingencies.
  • Work across IT to ensure that all components supporting the end-to-end objective/requirement have been assigned.
  • Work with Enterprise Architecture Teams and IT SME's to ensure the right technology fit for the solution.
  • Align architecture diagrams and process flows to project plan to identify and remediate gaps.
  • Work with QA to develop testing strategy which has traceability to requirements.

This position requires:
  • 3+ years Java Development experience (including development with runnable jars).
  • DevOps Engineering experience.
  • Direct hands-on experience working with Waterfall and Agile project methodology.
  • Experience working on financial application projects.
  • 2+ years Hands-on Expertise using Urban Code Build and Deploy.
  • 5+ years of the following Tools:
    o Version control Git/GitHub, Stash.
    o Script development tools Shell, Perl, Python, Java Scripting.
    o Open Source tools Jenkins, Selenium.
    o Ticket systems Serena, Jira.
  • Strong Communication skills.
  • Ability to work at both detail and high level.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Ability to communicate to multiple audiences.
  • Ability to work across organization to ensure that all components supporting the end-to-end objective/requirement have been assigned.
  • Respectful, patient, confident and cool under pressure.

Preferred/ Nice-to-haves:
  • Experience in the car finance business.
  • Application programming, database and system design.
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience (in similar field and/or industry).
  • Elevating delivery to keep pace with emerging platform demand including mobile.
  • Project management experience on large (multi-year) efforts.
  • Extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices and ability to match new methodologies to the right development environment.
