Required:
  • 5+ years experience in Information Technology;
  • Active Directory Enterprise Administration experience;
  • Active Directory process automation (VBS and PowerShell scripting);
  • Supervisory experience of an Access Management team
  • Ability to initiate, design, execute, and complete projects independently with minimal direction
  • Must possess excellent communication skills (written, verbal) and have the ability and experience working effectively with technical and non-technical individuals alike
  • Ability to solve problems independently

Full Job Description:
The Access and Identity Management team was recently reorganized to another area of the IT Department.  As part of this reorganization an assessment of work methods and staff is recommended to look for improvement opportunities.  The team is without a supervisor at this time, and an intermediary supervisor is needed during this period of assessment and transition.
                                     
  • Description of Work to Be Performed and the Specific Skill Sets Needed:
Work to be Performed:
Provide supervision to Access and Identity Management team including work direction, develop team procedures, develop team documentation, conduct meetings, represent team at meetings with customers and other IT teams, manage employees including performance management in compliance with Hennepin County Human Resources policies and procedures.
Complete an assessment of Access and Identity Management team including current state of skills and procedures, recommendation for future state of skills and procedures, gap analysis, and project planning and management of efforts to move to future state.
Facilitate efforts to improve processes in the Access and Identity Management team.  Look for opportunities to automate processes and improve customer service.  Establish service targets for Access and Identity Management services and requests.
List of Deliverables: ­
Current state of skills and processes of Access and Identity Management; Microsoft Word document including diagrams of current processes, and assessment of skills and experience by employee
Recommended future state of skills and processes of Access and Identity Management; Microsoft Word document including training recommendations by employee, and diagrams of future processes demonstrating service targets for processes
Project plan and work breakdown structure of effort to bridge the gap from current to future state including timeline and budget implications
 
Impact/Outcome from a Business Perspective:
The IT department is invested in improving service to internal and external customers in the area of Access and Identity management.  Customers require consistency in delivery of these services in terms of timeliness and quality of outcomes.  It is anticipated that a consultant can provide leadership and expertise in assisting the IT department in this improvement effort
