Job Description

This position is to engineer and deploy a system to Client, map, and store configuration information for our different services. This system will be primarily used by our infrastructure team to better manage our assets, their configuration, and how they are connected.
Responsibilities:
  • Will work to select, design, and deploy an asset discovery and configuration management data base.
  • Works hand in hand with project managers, engineers, administrators, and customers to deliver projects on time and in budget.
  • Will work to integrate the CMDB system into other applications that manage service requests, change management, monitoring, and automation.
  • Works with both managed data centers and self-managed data centers to integrate with currently deployed systems.
  • Develops documentation for requirements, architectural designs, engineering drawings and diagrams, as well as operational policies and procedures.
  • Encourages an environment of sharing and team work among the project teams.
  • Develops and documents best practices for system installation, deployment, and operation.
  • Manages technology proof of concept selection criteria, evaluation, and testing.
  • Explores and stays abreast of new technologies that can bring value to the organization.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or 5 to 7 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7 years of experience in the infrastructure engineering field.
  • Previous experience designing and deploying a CMDB system such as IBMs TADDM or HPs uCMDB.
  • Previous experience integrating CMDB systems with other tools such as service requests, change management, enterprise monitoring, and automation systems.
  • Previous experience working with Service Now integration.
  • Previous experience working with the ITIL and ITSM models.
  • Demonstrates good judgment and experience in technology selection and implementation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Provide excellent customer service, leadership, communication, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Demonstrate strong prioritization, time management and organizational skills.
  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Listens, understands, and gets clarification. Seeks other input at all phases of the project.
