Job Description

Responsibilities include:
  • Troubleshooting complex software application issues.
  • Issues to be resolved require a broad range of troubleshooting skills related to: software functionality, application server setup, database management, data analysis, and third party products (SQL Server reporting/Integration Services, Informatica, Autosys, NDM, Oracle, Redhat Jboss and Tomcat app servers) 
  • Providing client management services inclusive of excellent communications, responsive follow through, and advocacy for client issues within internal departments. The Production Support Engineer will analyze trends associated with the customer base and report potential areas of risk or reward to Production Support Management. 
  • Prioritizing numerous issues of varying severity, and effectively manage the resolution of all issues within accepted service levels. 
  • Collaborating extensively with peers, Business Analysts, Operations Staff and Development to resolve client issues while actively contributing to a growing knowledge network that improves the effectiveness of our team and the information available to our Partners. 
  • First level system administration of client environments including: Tracking all changes and working with our internal teams to ensure optimal performance and response times. 
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements to the team's production processes. 
  • Maintain knowledge and technical expertise of current production best practices tools and techniques 
    and implement them in a reasonable and responsible manner. 
  • Coordinate, implement and test vulnerability remediation's in all production and non production environments. 
  • Minimize overall production risks while maximizing productivity. 
  • Lead, develop and mentor junior members of the Production team. 
  • 3+ years of configuration management and engineering for large scale web and ETL applications, ideally supporting an agile development process 
  • 1+ Year of system Hadoop and NoSQL support and integration experience 
  • 2+ Years of experience in Informatica development 
  • 3+ Years of experience in technical Informatica support/administration. 
  • 3+ Years of experience in support of Oracle database PL-SQL application 
  • 4+ SQL Server database, Integration and Reporting services skills and data analysis. 
  • 3-5 years' experience in engineering support or technical support environment or equivalent consulting experience.
  • Deep understanding of version control systems (svn, Git, etc.), including branching and merging strategies
  • Experience with software build tools (Maven) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins)
  • Experience with Linux environments and scripting languages (we tend to use bash but are open to any language)
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to perform a multi-task job and adjust priorities as appropriate.
  • Possess excellent time management skills. Be able to take the initiative to meet deadlines and the ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team situation as well as independently.
  • The ability to network and interact effectively with a broad range of associates spanning varied disciplines and responsibilities.
  • Must have a strong passion for production support and process excellence and customer satisfaction. Contract to Hire Resource eligible.
