Job description
  • Manage cross-functional development teams; lead teams effectively; provide input to functional managers on team and team member performance.
  • Lead a team of employees to guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports.
  • Responsible for managing the offshore resource loading.
  • Understand program requirements and discuss, determine the execution strategy. Manage key initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing processes for each component and/or equipment; develop and implement project plan; build team ownership and commitment to project plan; mentor and/or coach team members.
  • Manage the technical challenges of technology application and new product development; identify, communicate, and manage technical risk.
  • Implement Product Development Projects; lead team to complete activities to current policies and practices; keep documentation organized.
  • Final quality check of the deliverables, on need basis (depends on the functional area deliverables).
  • Take part in document creation, approval and signature meetings (if any) as an authorized Service Provider representative.
  • Execute development engineering activities.

Generic Managerial Skills
  • The Manufacturing Engineer will assume the role of project leader and organize QA and other departments to achieve the successful introduction of new products, including:
  • Make decisions on selection of suitable team based on the project needs in concurrence with the customer.
  • Meet delivery promise in terms of budget and timescales.
  • Monitor Project progress and team performance and make necessary changes to the team as needed to ensure achievement of project goals
  • Work within a multi-discipline team, consisting of the R&D Development Group, Marketing, Quality, Operations, etc.
  • Liaison with customer designated point of contact and functional area point of contact.
  • Responsibility for team and cross-functional communications; lead phase and business reviews, project meeting minutes, issues log, metrics, and other key communications.
