Job Description:
  • Must Have PHP
About The Job
  • The DevOps position can be located in Cherry Hill, NJ at the Woodcrest location, Greenwood Village, CO or in downtown Philly at 2 Logan.
  • They will need to be familiar enough to deploy code and provide support of the application and the infrastructure, but they will not be doing any of the actual development work in the iterations.
  • They will work with our customers when support requests are submitted to determine if they are web dev related or services related (need to be assigned to Jason’s team). If related to web development, then determine if the issue is an infrastructure issue that they will address or a software issue that is a quick fix that they can do or does it require a user story for development work.
  • This person will be implementing and supporting application and infrastructure monitoring and alerting. They will need to be experienced in this so that their monitoring scripts in the application do not impact performance.
  • They will be deploying the code. I want them to focus on automating our deployments, currently we’re very manual and clunky.
  • They will be assisting us in analyzing our code to look for performance issues and where we can optimize the code for better performance.
  • They will help us build some more environments (one for design and another for UAT/Demo’s) and have them be more efficient than they currently are for moving code from one env to the next until production.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Work to create continuous delivery pipeline to automatically push code through the environments
  • Act as subject matter expert during the deployment of new and existing initiatives/systems, including enhancements, upgrades, updates, and patches if applicable.
  • Deploy, debug and optimize dev, test and production VM’s consisting of Linux, Apache, Tomcat
  • Work with the team to own and maintain the production infrastructure - patches, backups, upgrades, and security
  • Daily interaction with developers and participation in the development process
  • Create and maintain documentation for supported systems, policies and services
  • Provide occasional on-call support and off-hours maintenance work
  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools, such as Jenkins
  • An eye for opportunities to automate
  • Working in version control, especially with Git and Gitlab
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work among multiple teams and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical teammates
  • Passionate about the pursuit of a scalable, reliable, fast and secure site
  • Identifying & improving key areas of an application / environment to ensure peak performance, uptime and security
  • Partnering with support teams to enhance monitoring and tooling to minimize MTTR
  • Assist with writing test cases for Quality Assurance
  • Identify, implement, and document technical SOP’s for maintenance tasks
  • Works closely with various groups to ensure appropriate project documentation is available in the Transition/Run book for each new initiative or enhancement release. This also applies for changed/modified functionality on a new product or service
  • Coordinates with appropriate personnel to evaluate system capabilities and translate operational requirements into system configuration development
  • Executes configuration and development of Tesla technology and considers downstream impact to other systems, integrations, data flow, and overall impact to the business. Considers and evaluates the configuration interoperability between new proposed solutions vs. existing solutions in use at Comcast for the most effective and efficient development, configuration, and implementation.
  • Respond to alerts, including those escalated to you by the development team and customers
