Job Description:
The Project Manager is an advanced career position responsible for providing leadership for project delivery. Work with the appropriate IT management and staff to plan and prioritize needs of the project, which may span multiple IT groups. Develop project plans including timelines, resources, costs, and value-driven business cases. Perform professional work that is highly complex, varied, integrated, and of significant impact with minimal direct supervision. Work closely with internal customers to understand business needs and requirements, and implement appropriate information technology solutions. Build and maintain working relationships with other IT groups and resources to collaboratively deliver projects to customers.
Develop project plans including timelines, resources, costs, and value-driven business cases. Prepare business cases, and project work plans utilizing the Project Management Office process.
  • Actively manage the delivery of projects, taking ideas and concepts and turning them into an agreed-upon deliverable.
  • Regularly provide status reports and presentations to customers and IT management and staff.
  • Proactively manage risks and project deliverables and remove barriers to project completion. Effectively solve problems and develop solutions.
  • Mentor less experienced project managers.

Work Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience is required along with a minimum of 4 years advanced IT project management skills.
  • Must be able to manage large, complex application delivery projects.
  • Must be able to develop business cases and estimate project timelines, resources, and costs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization and with personnel located at LCO and in field locations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills required.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; consideration given for technical knowledge as it relates to a degree. Master's degree a plus.
