LEAD DATAWAREHOUSE DEVELOPER
Responsibilities
Leads the design, development, enhancement and support of data acquisition from various source systems into a centralized repository used for reporting by the Business Intelligence team and Data Analysts.Works under general supervision.
Responsibilities:
  • Leads Data Warehouse design including new subject area development and integration with existing data model.
  • Develops ETL routines based on established guidelines and best practices.
  • Creates/modifies data extraction routines into a standardized approach that can be repeatable and reusable.
  • Develops proper standards which will allow for a framework that can be used by all ETL Developers when acquiring data.
  • Works closely with key stakeholders, business representatives and technical resources to get a good understanding of the source to ensure a full understanding of business processes and rules that need to be applied to the data.
  • Establishes controls to monitor and confirm job completion with procedures in place in case of failure.
  • Addresses performance issues with appropriate technical solutions.
  • Implements a robust enterprise wide repository designed to ensure analysts will be able to access the data for final presentation to end users.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field or equivalent work experience required.
Experience:
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Data Integration projects working on ETL framework for Data Warehouse projects and writing ETLs using SQL scripts and/or ETL tools (Informatica,Glue, Matillion) required.
  • Working knowledge of databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres or Redshift required.
  • Experience with query performance tuning techniques required. Hands on experience in performance tuning of SQL scripts required.
  • Experience with Scheduling tools such as Autosys, Control-M or Tivoli etc. required. Working knowledge of data modeling (BI Snowflake/3NF, Star, Slowly Changing Dimensions) and experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin or ER/Studio required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how best to store the data for reporting (BI Snowflake/3NF, Star, Dimensional models), making certain that a best approach solution is used to achieve optimized performance required.
  • Understanding various data stores (database, files, XML, etc.) and how best to extract data required.
  • Understating various aspects of logical, conceptual and physical modeling of data warehouse projects required.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and contribute to new ideas required. Enterprise BI Experience preferred.
  • Healthcare experience preferred. Exposure to Microstrategy preferred. AWS Ecosystem experience preferred. Big Data experience (Cloudera, Horton, HIVE, Impala) preferred.
