Knowledge / Skills requirements:
• DB2 11 z/OS • JCL
• DB2 Utilities – COPY, RUNSTATS, REORG, etc., & COMMANDS
• DB2 Performance Tuning – effective use of data query optimization through statistics, maintenance/reorgs, index design
• Application tuning – design of effective approaches to invoking database access through SQL
• Database Administration & Performance Tools
• System Monitoring with ASG-TMON/DB2 or other comparable product
• Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing • Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Action and results oriented • Excellent organization and time management skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Ability to mentor others • Ability to exercise good judgment while under stress

• IBM Data Studio – for Performance Tuning • OPTIM Test Data Management – Move-for-DB2
• CA Database Administration tools – RC/Query, Migrator, Plan Analyzer, Log Analyzer
• CA Performance Tools – Detector, Subsystem Analyzer, Thread Terminator
• DB2 Connect & familiarity with Type 2/4 connections • DB2 Systems Tuning knowledge – bufferpools
• Knowledge of Informatica ETL and Websphere Application environments
• IDAA Support
• Knowledge & Understanding of ServiceNow or similar workflow processes/tools
The top responsibilities for the role would be
• SQL Performance Tuning - knowledge and expertise in SQL coding & tuning, functions & features at a very-high/expert level •
Physical Implementation and maintenance of database objects
• CRITical SITuation & Oncall support – dealing with complex issues involving DB2 from any number of perspectives – ETL, COBOL (batch), Websphere Online, etc. Participation in a weekly 24x7 oncall rotation will be required
