Our direct client is seeking an experienced Senior Epic Project Manager to lead a high-profile Cardiac Refuel Program, a strategic optimization initiative focused on improving clinical, operational, financial, scheduling, registration, and patient access workflows across the Cardiac service line.
This individual will manage a portfolio of interrelated Epic Cardiac optimization projects designed to standardize workflows, improve patient and staff experiences, automate manual processes, enhance financial clearance operations, and support organizational growth. The ideal candidate will have extensive healthcare IT project management experience, strong stakeholder management skills, and a proven background leading Epic optimization and transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Cardiac Refuel Program consisting of multiple concurrent Epic optimization workstreams.
- Develop and manage integrated project plans, timelines, dependencies, risks, issues, budgets, and executive communications.
- Facilitate governance meetings and provide regular status reporting to operational and executive leadership.
- Coordinate efforts across Information Services, Clinical Operations and Cardiology leadership teams.
- Drive decision-making, issue resolution, and change management activities including Epic Cardiac Optimization initiatives such as: Patient Access & Scheduling Transformation and Clinical Workflow Optimization (CPRU Infusion workflows).
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of hands-on healthcare IT project management experience.
- Minimum of 5 years managing Epic implementation, optimization, or transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience leading large scale, complex, multi-workstream healthcare projects.
- Experience working with:
- Epic Clinical Applications
- Patient Access
- Registration Workflows
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to influence decisions across clinical, operational, and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP certification.
- Epic implementation or optimization experience.
- Experience supporting Cardiology, Cupid, Cardiovascular, or Procedural Services.
- Knowledge of Cardiac system relative to:
- Real-Time Eligibility (RTE)
- Patient Access workflows
- Care coordination and referral management
- Financial clearance processes
- Experience in large hospital / healthcare organizations.
- Experience in project managing workflow redesign and operational transformation programs.
