Our client is seeking an Epic Project Manager.
 
Description
The Epic Project Manager oversees and manages projects related to the system implementation, support and quality assurance for assigned areas.
 
Key Accountabilities:
  • Delegates duties and responsibilities among team members. Fosters collaborative and productive relationships among team members. Resolves disputes and disciplinary issues among team members. Communicates appropriately with Executive Program Director and Product Directors regarding shared work and dependencies across multiple groups.
  • Utilizes established Enterprise project management standards, processes, policies, methodologies and tools established by the Program Management Office to manage timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Oversees project communication strategies, including the use of websites, email, and printed materials.
  • Develops and tracks quality, performance, and usage metrics for the Epic project and systems, and prepares printed and electronic reports for communication of the data as part of Enterprise Governance projects status reporting.
  • Works closely with the Epic Executive Program Director and Epic Product Directors, project analysts, consultants and team members to ensure tasks are clearly defined and completed on scope, on budget and on-time, and ensures that issues are logged, escalated and resolved in a timely fashion.
  • Interfaces with Enterprise and Clinical leadership to align the work of the systems groups with the strategic goals of the enterprise.
  • Provides recommendations relative to scope, integration, and design decisions to the Epic project leadership.
  • Works closely with the teams and adheres to planned budgets and provides appropriate documentation for variances and exceptions.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors and other staff.
  • Functions as an advocate, Change Agent and serves as a positive role model for encouraging others to embrace operational changes and transformation associated with the technology projects.
  • Leads the development of appropriate metrics for quality, performance, usage, and outcomes related to clinical information systems.
  • Collects and aggregates data with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provides clear and comprehensive summary reports to the PMO.
  • Utilizes reporting software, web-pages, printed materials, and other media to convey information to stakeholders and management.
  • Performs other tasks as required.
 
Required Skills:
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Business or Clinical related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have Epic experience.
  • Must have EMR experience (Epic preferred).
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage all stages of the Project Management life cycle.
  • Extensive experience managing large, complex projects, in an Academic Medical Center environment and within other healthcare organizations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong leadership and multitasking abilities.
  • Healthcare IT project management experience.
  • Experience in implementing information systems, clinical initiatives, including electronic healthcare, academic and research systems.
  • Cerner or Next Gen experience a plus.
