Job description
The Information Systems Project Manager will coordinate and monitor projects or programs from initiation through delivery. Focus is on meeting project commitments, including communicating with staff, sponsors, stakeholders, etc. This position spends significant time on project management responsibilities and will lead or assist in the planning, implementation and introduction of projects for new systems, technologies, and software ranging from electronic health record related systems and healthcare billing systems to enterprise resource planning systems and internet/web applications.
Responsibilities include leading the overall management activities of project(s) through all phases of the development lifecycle, leveraging the Client's project methodology that includes, but is not limited to:
• planning
• gather requirements
• design goals, objectives, and scope
• testing (all phases)
• implementation
• transition to operations
The Information Systems Project Manager also serves as the liaison between technical and non-technical departments in order to ensure that all targets and requirements are met and projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree, preferably in a math, science, or technology related field of study.
  • Five to nine years of experience.
  • Knowledge of project management, project management phases, techniques and tools, and the ability to assist planning and/or implementation of large scale projects. Ability to lead small scale projects singularly.
  • Strong and tested project management skills, including sponsor and risk management.
  • Ability to provide realistic expectations, establish specific customer satisfaction standards and actively monitor client satisfaction.
  • Ability to manage project budget and resource allocation, and follow a defined, agreed upon project management methodology.
  • Ability to recognize problems or situations that are new or without clear precedent.
  • Skills to evaluate alternatives and find solutions using a systematic, multi-step approach to keep projects on time and on budget.
  • Ability to develop improvements and innovations to enhance performance.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and precisely.
  • Conveys goals and objectives clearly and in a compelling manner; listens effectively and clarifies information as needed; interprets verbal and non-verbal messages that others communicate; produces clear status reports; communicates tactfully and candidly.
  • Ability to ensure that project status, project plans and issues are communicated to project team, stakeholders, sponsors, steering committee and all levels of management, and documented appropriately.
  • Knowledge and ability to provide day to day support for all IT projects.
  • Ability to lead smaller IT projects independently.
  • Ability to assist in developing and evaluating successful project management criteria and measurement methods to determine a successful project.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, healthcare, enterprise resource planning systems, or financial and billing processes is a plus.
  • Significant experience with any combination of the following:
    • Project Management methodologies
    • Microsoft Project and other PM tracking tools
    • Microsoft Office products
