 Tailwind Associates, an EOE, has a direct hire opportunity with our client in Albany, NY for a Infrastructure Architect
 The  Infrastructure Architect provides technical leadership to achieve our Cloud-Centric technology strategy.  The successful candidate will drive adoption of AWS, Microsoft, and related IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS delivery of essential business and technology services.  The Infrastructure Architect works with storage, compute, networking, and security teams to ensure that technical architectures and solutions meet needs across domains.  The architect drives adoption of new technologies, and ensures that legacy solutions and processes are replaced with the best solutions new paradigms support.

  • Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred. Degrees in Computer Science, Systems or Electrical Engineering, or Information Systems preferred
  • Minimum number years of relevant experience: 5
  • Experience with Public and Hybrid Clouds implementing/integrating SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.
  • Experience with data center technologies including but not limited to servers, storage & networks.
  • Experience or familiarization with Security technologies (Encryption, Key Management, Firewalls, IPS/IDS).
  • Experience with the installation, configuration, management and operations of enterprise systems and environments
  • Experience with administering and configuring operating systems (Linux & Windows), virtualization and cloud technologies.
  • Experience with relational database platforms including but not limited to Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with Operational Tools (Event Monitoring/Alerting, ITSM)
  • Experience with scripting (PowerShell, JavaScript, Chef and Puppet) Preferred
  • Experience developing technical architecture artifacts including system diagrams, process flows, network diagrams, and configuration specifications
  • Thorough knowledge of enterprise SDLC processes and practices
  • Strong written and verbal communications
  • Strong analytic skills for determining essential characteristics of issues and devising effective solutions
  • Ability to translate business requirements into application requirements and architectures
  • Hands-on experience or familiarity with contemporary technologies, including but not limited to, web-services (SOAP or REST), WebSphere, Tomcat, IIS, Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, Redshift, open-sources technologies.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Leadership skills and the ability to lead development teams
