Tailwind Associates, an EOE, has a full-time opportunity with our client in Albany, NY for a SAS Administrator

The Analytics System Administrator is directly responsible for the support and maintenance of the technical development toolsets, focusing on areas such as the ETL development environment (Informatica), the analysis environment (SAS), the reporting environment (Cognos), and so on. The System Administrator is responsible for all code promotions, system setup/configuration, stability, system performance, and security. This position reports to a Data Management team manager. This individual collaborates with System Administrators, Enterprise Data Warehouse Architects, key stakeholders, business users and staff members to understand goals and objectives, develop roadmaps, build processes, develop solutions and support developers in their efforts to deploy quality code. The System Administrator is responsible for and will contribute to the installation, testing, enhancement and maintenance of all analytic business applications that support our enterprise processes. The Administrator plays a key technical role in the ongoing support of the analytic development in achieving our corporate strategy. The System Administrator will work on an administrative team, provide backup and collaborative support roles for the analytic environments as well as a growing collection of analytic tool sets. The Administrator will be responsible for on call duties. This position will have the opportunity to broaden their skill set to cloud analytic tools as well.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree required. 7 years relevant experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Certified training in Informatica Administration, Cognos Administration or SAS Administration is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable with Cloud architecture and strategic re-platforming efforts.
  • 5 years of warehouse development experience is preferred.
  • At least 5 years' experience developing and driving adoption of a data integration or analysis technology.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Data Modelers suggesting standards is preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare processes, rules, regulations, enrollment/eligibility guidelines and reporting requirements for HMO, PPO, ASO, Medicare, Medicaid, Family Health Plus and Child Health Plus preferred
  • Strong knowledge of systems analysis and writing program specifications required.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS concepts, development experience and scripting is preferred.
  • Ability to work with IT and business groups to formulate business and technical requirements is required.
  • Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Linux experience is preferred. Familiarity with NoSQL or Unstructured data concepts a plus.
  • Demonstrated analytical experience and critical thinking skills are required.
  • Ability to effectively handle competing priorities is required.
