About the role:
Looking for expertise in assistance in a JBOSS/ WebSphere migration project. Thorough knowledge in JBOSS and corporate install/ configuration in a clustered environment with JDBC/MQ/ integration and load balance support.
This team works in a WebShphere environment, they are now looking to migrate to JBoss. They need someone who can come in for a 2-3 month project to help with the POC (proof of concept) stage of this project. They will be responsible for providing expertise in this area to the Web Development team by conducting demos/deploys for the managers. They are looking for someone who has 3-5 years of experience with JBoss migrations (must come from a corporate/enterprise level of environment where they have led multiple migrations).
This project has potential to get extended once they reach implementation stages.
  • Provide Expertise in the concept of the install and configuration of Jboss
    • Include Session Affinity
    • Database JDBC
    • MQ Integration
    • Clustering
  • Expertise should span support for:
    • Multiple instances behind Apache with an F5 Load Balancer
    • Deploy Multiple applications to a finite number of JVM's running behind 13 major URL's
    • Configure Session State with failover
    • Configure MQ
    • Configure JDBC for Oracle/SQL/Sybase
    • Provide assistance and recommendations for Migration from WebSphere to JBOSS
Qualifications & Technical Skills:
  • JBOSS Experience (3-5 years)
  • WebSphere Network Deployment Experience is a huge plus, but not necessary for the POC stage of this project
  • Network technology / topology experience
  • Linux Experience
  • Load Balancing- F5 or other concept
